SINH

Returns the hyperbolic sine of a number.

Syntax

SINH(number: T) → DOUBLE

Type Parameters:

• T: Any numeric type (TINYINT, SMALLINT, INTEGER, BIGINT, FLOAT, DOUBLE, DECIMAL)

Arguments

Returns

DOUBLE - Hyperbolic sine result

Notes

• Definition: SINH(x) = (e^x - e^(-x)) / 2
• SINH(0) = 0
• Odd function: SINH(-x) = -SINH(x)
• Grows exponentially for large |x|
• Related to regular sine but for hyperbolic geometry
• Can be positive or negative depending on input sign
• Returns NULL if input is NULL
